A hideaway location, Woodhouse Farm is a family run small holding located midway between the market towns of Llanidloes and Rhayader, the self-proclaimed ‘Outdoors Capital of Wales’, and the geographical heart of Mid Wales, surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Cambrian Mountains. Just 4 miles from the main A470 trunk road linking North and South Wales and the A44 linking Oxford to the coast at Aberystwyth via the Cotswolds means you can experience being in the middle of nowhere whilst also being close to main road links, making this the ideal base to explore the beautiful countryside of Mid Wales and beyond.

Being set right in the centre of Wales outdoor enthusiasts, both young and old, will find plenty to do both on the farm and nearby. We have the wild and remote Cambrian Mountains close by to the west and softer more gentle farmland to the east. Whether you are an avid hill walker seeking strenuous days out or a weekend cyclist looking for a day or two riding along pleasant and quiet lanes you will not be disappointed, and days out can be tailored to your own ability, starting right from the door. Equally many of the routes are also suitable for horse riders, whose horses we are also able to accommodate. Canoeing on the River Wye is another popular pastime, as is fishing on the nearby lakes.
