The Mid Wales Bunkhouse, Tipi and Camping is located at Woodhouse Farm,
midway between Rhayader and Llanidloes, close to the villages of St. Harmon
and Pant Y Dwr. As our name suggests we are right
in the very centre of Wales.
The surrounding countryside is splendidly wild.
Be it summer or winter it can be explored by bike, on foot, or even on
horseback or by canoe, with each season offering its own challenges.
In winter weather such as we have had for the last couple of years
even cross country skiing is a possibility.
We are close to the Elan and Wye Valleys, the Trans Cambrian Trail and
The Lon Las Cymru cycle route is also close by, and on our website you will
find a suggested, and we believe more interesting alternative route,
taking you right past the door. The Radnorshire Ring, regional cycle route 25,
also passes closeby, and this can easily form part of a circuit across Wales
from East to West.
What to do.
Outdoor enthusiasts, both young and old, will find plenty to do both on the farm and nearby.
Being set right in the centre of Wales we have the wild and remote Cambrian Mountains close by to the west
and softer more gentle farmland to the east. Whether you are an avid hill walker seeking strenuous days out or
a weekend cyclist looking for a day or two riding along pleasant and quiet lanes you will not be
disappointed, and days o...

Upstairs is a dormitory sleeping up to 14 people and downstairs is a

Peace and quiet and beautiful rolling countryside with a superb view from
your window is what you will find on arrival at Woodhouse Farm, home of 'Mid Wales Camping
and Caravanning', and this is confirmed by our Camping and Caravanning Club
The site is available to all Club members and any non members are welcome to
join on arrival.
The Site is on level, well draining grass, with five individual pitches,
A Tipi is the traditional tent of the native North Americans, as found on the
plains of the 'Wild West' in the 1700’s.
It is constructed with a number of poles crossed and tied at the top, with a
A fire can be lit in the middle for warmth and cooking, the smoke passing
through an opening at the top of the tent. Flaps on the outside of the
tipi direct the smoke depending on the prevailing wind.
Whilst our accommodation is let on a self catering basis we are also able to offer meals, but these do need to be booked in advance.
For a large group the more notice you can give us the better. For smaller groups and individuals the day before is usually enough.
Indeed for individuals, provided you're happy to settle for whatever we have available, we can usually put something simple together
in a couple hours.

Lovely location. Nicely appointed accommodation. Just what we needed after a day in the saddle. There was even a piano so we could keep the twitchers up with non-stop jazz.
